I was under the impression that e-mail marketing has all but been done away with. It seems like no one really talks about it much but I was looking at percentage breakdowns and social media still seems to preform below e-mail marketing. This is in terms of clicks and interactions with the e-mail vs the social media post. Should I focus on e-mail marketing more than social media marketing?Â
E-mail marketing is more important, by far. If you can get people to sign up to an e-mail list, that is virtual gold.Â
To give you an example: For every 1,500 click you get through e-mail, you will get roughly 200 on Facebook and 75 clicks on Twitter.Â
Social media is great for boosting and supplementing but e-mail is still the best way to maintain traffic, improve sales, and everything else really.Â

Wow. I really thought social media did better than that. After reading this, I did look up how they do in terms of per-click analytics and Twitter doesn't seem to do much in comparison. I guess that is better for directly selling items and getting people to click very niche things. Facebook does do better for sure. I will work on setting up an e-mail marketing plan since I have time off for the holidays. Thanks for the information!
