I once thought GoDaddy was the best option and I think this was primarily down to marketing. Over the years, more and more domain registration sites have popped up. Now we have places like Google's Domains, NameCheap, Gandi and more. We also can buy through actual web-hosting service sites too to have it all in one place. I have done this in the past but I don't do it anymore. I get all my domains through NameCheap at this point and do self-hosting off my own servers.Â
Where do you think the best place to buy domain names is?Â
I would say Domain.com, Namecheap, and Hover are probably the best places for most people. I would go with Namecheap if I had to choose just one.Â
If you are familiar enough, buying them through the cloud is probably a better option than all of those in my opinion.Â
I buy all my domains from Cloudflare. It is the cheapest option there is and they are very transparent with everything. I used to use GoDaddy but would not recommend them anymore. They rip a lot of people off.Â

I have never looked into buying domains through them. Interesting. What does CloudFlare offer that other places don't? I mean other than having cheaper options? I mean if I am going to move away from one of the top places, I would want it to be worth it for me.Â
